Does your site implement Google Consent Mode v2 correctly?

Enter your URL, the audit takes ~30 seconds. We check 6 key requirements Google has enforced for EEA traffic since March 2024. First test of the day, no email needed.

What we actually check

  • Google tags present (Tag Manager / Analytics 4 / Ads). Without them Consent Mode v2 doesn't apply — we just note it.
  • Consent default call before the first tag fires. Critical moment — without it, your tags may track without consent → GDPR art.6 + ePrivacy violation.
  • All signals defaulted to 'denied' — ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization, analytics_storage. EEA opt-in requirement.
  • Consent Mode v2 signals — ad_user_data and ad_personalization. Added in v2, required for fully-personalised remarketing.
  • wait_for_update value. Gives the consent banner time to load before tags fire — typically 500 ms.
  • Update mechanism — is window.gtag available so the CMP can push consent update when the user clicks Accept.

Score not looking great?
